GIRLS’ YOUTH CHORUS

A Message from Ms. Nott:

We now have a firm commitment from a great conductor and we have a “yes” from 27 singers.  For those of you who have already said “yes” – thank you.  All we need now is a “yes” from 8-10 more girls and we will have a second high school choir! 

 

We have been considering a Girls’ Youth Chorus for several years, but this is the first year that we have had a large enough and talented enough group to make this happen.  Also, you should know that we have a fabulous performance schedule next season which includes, in addition to the three Meyerson concerts, a performance in October at the new Winspear Opera House.  And – we have an exciting tour (which we will announce soon) during the last week of June, 2010.

 

We formed the Youth Chorus 7 seasons ago because many singers (and parents) wanted the chance to continue participating in a high-quality choral program and because Ms. Henson became available.  It looks like history is repeating itself – we just need 27 more commitments!

 

For planning purposes, we must have at least 35 girls signed up by June 30th in order to form this chorus.  If you have a friend who is interested, she needs to call the office (214-965-0491) to schedule an audition week.  If we reach 35 singers by June 30th, we will still hold auditions for this chorus on August 10th.
