Julie Funston
NEIGHBORHOOD CHORUS CONDUCTOR; PRELUDE, APPRENTICE AND CONCERT I CHORUS VOCAL COACH

Julie Funston joined CCGD in 2015 as Conductor of the Neighborhood Choruses and recently became vocal coach for CCGD's Prelude, Apprentice and Concert I Choruses. She also currently teaches private voice lessons in Plano ISD. Before becoming a stay at home mom with her four children, she was the Director of Choral Activities at Schimelpfenig Middle School in Plano.
Ms. Funston earned her Masters Degree of Music in Choral Conducting from The University of Arizona, where she was a graduate assistant with the children's choir and community outreach music program of St. Philips in the Hills church. Prior to graduate school, she taught choir at Gaylord Middle School and Gaylord High School in northern Michigan. Ms. Funston earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education K-12, with vocal emphasis from Western Michigan University.
