Audition Information for Current Singers

Many current CCGD singers have already expressed an interest in “moving up” to the next chorus.  If your child would like to audition for a more advanced chorus, please call 214-965-0491 to schedule an audition time. When you contact us, please specify a day and time that is convenient for you. We are usually able to accommodate your requests.

The audition will take about 10 minutes. Your child will be asked to sing the 5 vowel sounds: mee, meh, mah, moh, moo. They will be asked to sing a short passage of a song they have been working on in their chorus. I will ask them to echo two, short, unfamiliar, melodic passages. Mrs. Harley, Ms. Preskitt and I will then look at the child’s participation in their current chorus. We are looking for eager, expressive participants that exhibit personal rehearsal and performance discipline:

  • tall posture that requires only an occasional prompt
  • the first to follow directions
  • helpful awareness of others
  • on timeexcellent attendance
