DALLAS, TX (March 7, 2019) – Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas (CCGD) is thrilled to announce that Business Council for the Arts has been named the organization’s 2019 Advocate for the Arts award recipient. The Advocate for the Arts award is presented yearly to honor one individual or organization that has made remarkable contributions to the growth and advancement of the arts in the Dallas community. The award will be presented at CCGD’s Art of Music Gala, which takes place April 7, 2019 at the Dallas Museum of Art.
Katherine Wagner, CEO of Business Council for the Arts, will accept the award on Business Council for the Arts’ behalf.
Wagner remarked, “On behalf of our board of directors, team and stakeholders, we are honored to accept CCGD’s Advocate for the Arts award. CCGD provides the training that all children need to have rich, productive lives. They are building the next generations of citizens who will be our industry and philanthropic leaders.”
Rick del Monte, our wonderful chair, is in Cuba, away from technology. I will accept the award on behalf of BCA, unless I hear differently from Rick before your deadline (please let me know what the latest date on this is).
“This award is a fitting tribute to the incredible impact Business Council on the Arts has on the arts and the Dallas community,” said Megan Heber, Executive Director of Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas. “For decades, Business Council for the Arts has been a champion for uniting arts and business.Their support provides us with the critical resources we need to empower our students to have a lifetime of creative thinking, innovative problem solving and powerful self-expression. Business Council for the Arts is a true advocate for the arts and is helping transform Dallas from livable to truly lovable. We are honored to recognize them with this award.”
The award will be presented at CCGD’s Art of Music Gala on April 7, 2019 at the Dallas Museum of Art. Funds raised from the event will support CCGD’s tuition assistance program, Summer Singing Camp, in-school concerts at Dallas areas schools, and community concerts in the greater Dallas area.
