James C. Emery
CONCERT II CHORUS PIANIST

Jimmy Emery joined the CCGD accompanying team in 2005 and presently serves as accompanist for Concert II with Terrie Preskitt-Brown. He has served as Director of Music Ministry at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church for the past thirteen years. There, he leads a diverse music program that engages over 150 volunteer and professional musicians in weekly worship services and seasonal concert performances. He also recently joined the staff of Brookhaven College as principal collaborative pianist for the music division.
A devoted collaborative performer, Jimmy has served fourteen seasons on the artistic staff of the Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas and performs regularly with The Texas Voices. He has performed on several recent recital series with mezzo-soprano Brooke Clark Gibson and provides collaborative support for a variety of chamber music engagements. Jimmy also provides accompanying services and coaching support for numerous public school instrumental and choral programs throughout the Dallas/Fort-Worth metroplex, including Allen, Dallas, Frisco, Mansfield, Plano, and Wylie Independent School Districts.
Jimmy, a summa cum laude graduate of the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University, earned a Master of Music degree in Music Education with a Concentration in Choral Conducting and a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance, Piano Pedagogy, and Music Education.
