Children's Chorus of Greater Dallas currently seeks applicants for the following position:
DESCRIPTION Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas (CCGD) is seeking an exceptional development professional to serve in the full-time position of Development Director. Joining CCGD at a point of unprecedented growth in its quality and profile as one of the nation’s largest and most prestigious vocal training programs, the incoming team member will play a vital role in CCGD’s exciting next chapter.
Reporting to CCGD’s Executive Director (E.D.) and working in conjunction with the E.D. and Artistic Director, the Development Director will design and execute a comprehensive development strategy, manage CCGD’s box office, and further advance CCGD’s reputation as a world-class organization for excellence in choral training and performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES Development Operations
Inspire and guide the efforts of the development, campaign, special events, and other fundraising or project committees including managing and planning CCGD’s annual Gala
Develop trust and build relationships with donors and potential new supporters interested in helping advance CCGD’s mission; ensure donors receive ongoing cultivation and stewardship
Efficiently organize and implement a departmental work plan to achieve annual and campaign goals
Serve as a thought leader and partner, collaborating with the volunteer leadership and staff to advance key organizational and development strategies to meet or exceed fundraising goals
Ensure the accurate maintenance of donor and prospect records
Be a highly visible presence at CCGD and community functions, setting an example as a proactive advocate for CCGD and facilitating connections with donors and prospects
Oversee the production of development collateral, including copy and design of donor materials
Prepare grant proposals in conjunction with the E.D. for foundations, corporations, government entities, and individual donors that address identified organizational funding priorities and include a compelling narrative of the need for funding
Maintain an annual grants deadline calendar
Prepare interim and final project and program reports to funding sources on a regular and scheduled basis working with CCGD’s E.D. to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Research and recommend funding opportunities from a broad range of sources, linking their compatibility with CCGD’s funding needs; work with members of CCGD’s Board of Directors and/or Development Committee to identify and contact key decision makers associated with granting organizations
Ticketing System Management (Box Office)
Manage the Box Office at CCGD’s four annual concerts including ticket exchanges and returns
Fulfill season ticket orders prior to the start of the concert season
Communicate the general box office policies to patrons and answer any questions regarding ticket prices and ticket sales procedure.
Assist with other office duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) plus a minimum of three years of professional experience in development and fundraising for a non-profit organization. Experience with a significant capital or endowment campaign is strongly preferred. Candidates should have a well-rounded knowledge of and proven track record in major and individual gifts, corporate support, government relations, institutional support, and/or special events. The selected individual will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated capacity to lead and motivate volunteers, and adeptness in building consensus among a diverse set of stakeholders. Candidates must be proficient with Microsoft Office, along with development CRM systems (Patron Manager). Experience with and knowledge of the Dallas donor community will be viewed favorably. A strong sense of humor, exceptional interpersonal skills, and pronounced entrepreneurial spirit are a must!
