TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

OPEN REHEARSALS

The Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas (CCGD) maintains four choruses for students in grades 4-8 and two choruses for students in grades 9-12. These six choruses rehearse on Monday nights in Dallas throughout the school year and are led by some of the nation’s leading choral educators.

All of CCGD’s rehearsals are open for observation.  If you are interested in observing any rehearsals, please e-mail Artistic Director Cynthia Nott at cynthia@thechildrenschorus.org
to let us know when you will be coming so that we can have a packet of materials available for you.  You will find our rehearsal times below:

MUSIC LIBRARY PERUSAL

Over the course of CCGD’s 22-year history, we have built a large choral music library comprised of repertoire ranging from unison to SATB voicing.  We are happy to allow local educators to stop by our office in downtown Dallas during normal business hours to peruse our choral music library.  We do require that you make an appointment, however.  To make an appointment, please e-mail Artistic Director Cynthia Nott at cynthia@thechildrenschorus.org.

SUMMER SINGING CAMP OBSERVATION

Observe CCGD’s artistic staff as they introduce a diverse group of non-auditioned young singers to choral singing. Through the rehearsal and performance of folk songs and art music in small and large group settings, the young singers will learn the basics of choral singing, including standing and sitting posture, vowel shapes, head voice, extending vocal range, phrasing, and more.

The camp takes place in June 2019 in downtown Dallas.  If you are interested in observing, please e-mail Artistic Director Cynthia Nott at cynthia@thechildrenschorus.org
to get location and time information.

COMPLIMENTARY TICKETS TO CCGD PERFORMANCES

CCGD annually presents three concerts at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center.  CCGD is thrilled to be able to offer local music educators complimentary tickets to our performances.  Concert dates for the 2018-19 season are found below.  All concerts are at 7:30 p.m.  If you are interested in receiving complimentary tickets, please e-mail Megan Heber, CCGD Executive Director, at megan@thechildrenschorus.org.  We hope to see you there!
